Music Therapy can facilitate a change in speech and language, motor planning, social and emotional areas. A child who may not be speaking…may sing effortlessly.

education + rhythm

PEDAL offers clients Music Therapy classes from The New England Conservatorium of Music via a Westpac Community Fund grant. Our Music Therapist, Hannah Rowland, is highly trained in Neurologic Music Therapy delivery. Our small clients experience simultaneous openings of neural pathways associated with language, and suddenly a child struggling with language will be singing a song with everyone else. Once these blocked pathways open with song, neuro-plasticity grows more connections and children’s language may start to slowly improve.

Hannah takes small groups at PEDAL regularly during school term and can do individual classes for a fee at PEDAL.

There can be no education without rhythm.
