Welcome to PEDAL, promoting early development and learning.

PEDAL is a not for profit early intervention service that has been supporting children in Armidale since 1976. We provide occupational therapy, speech pathology, physiotherapy, early intervention educators, family support and group services for children aged 0-7 years old. Currently PEDAL provides services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). We are not able to accept referrals for children requiring a General Practitioner Management Plan (GPMP) through Medicare.

At PEDAL we build a team around each child to identify and celebrate their strengths while supporting their ongoing development and participation. We strive to create a warm and welcoming space and value the importance of collaborating with families to achieve the best outcome for children.

In 2004 the name of our service changed from Armidale and District Early Intervention Service to PEDAL. This change was initiated by a child connected with PEDAL who announced that “if you learn how to PEDAL on a bike... you don’t forget.” This was inspiration for changing our name to PEDAL as an acronym for Promoting Early Development And Learning.
